Romantic Classic Lolita Makeup Tutorial~

Hi all ^.^
Today I have a tutorial for you- I hadn't done a tutorial in a while, so I figured it was time to post one c:
The lovely JanuaryChokko and I decided to collaborate and do tutorials for Japanese makeup looks- I chose Classic Lolita, and she chose a Dolly-Eyed makeup look.
Read her post here and her blog here!

I chose to do a video since I'm a lot more comfortable filming, but I'll also write a brief explanation of everything I did ^.^

1: Put in circle lenses if you're going to be using them! It's always easier to put them in before doing any makeup than trying to put them in without getting mascara on them...

2. Apply a base. This will make your skin look more even

3. Foundation/BB cream time! I never really liked foundations- they didn't work too well with my skin. Be sure to blend it well so that you don't have streaky face makeup.

4. Set it all with a powder, either pressed or loose. Just don't be too heavy with the application. I mostly like to focus the powder on my nose, T-zone, and underneath my eyes.

5. If you want, use a luminzer to brighten your skin and make it seem more radiant and glowy- as if you were a princess ^_^ I've always been a fan of rose-gold makeup products, and this one is a beautiful colour.

6. So the face doesn't look too pale and bland, use a blush in whichever colour you think looks good on your skin tone. I'm personally quite partial to coral/peach shades- I think they look natural and give a healthy glow to the skin. This blush which I'm using is nice because it's a bit shimmery.

7. So you lips don't blend into your face, apply a lipstick/lipstain/other type of lip color. I think a more neutral/rose color is great for this look.

8. For longer lasting eye shadow, apply an eye primer. I find that it can really make a difference in the longevity of your eye makeup.

9. I chose to put on a light pink eyeshadow that's close to my skin tone to even out my eyelid color.

10. To look like you have deeper set, bigger eyes, contour the outer edge with a matte dark brown and bring the color to your lashline.

11. To add a splash of color and depth, use a dark burgundy color in the middle and outer part of your eyelid. Buff the color out with a fluffy brush.

12. Going back to my obsession with rose-gold, highlight the inner corner and half of your inner lower lashline with a rose-gold eyeshadow.

13. For more rounded eyes, take a shimmery ivory color and apply it just in the middle of your lid, and blend out very slightly.

14. A black eyeliner would be too harsh for this look, so use a brown one and blend it out. Don't forget your lower lashline too~

15. Mascara! Mascara! Mascara! Mascara is awesome :3 Thoroughly coat the top and bottom lashes, but leave out the lashes on the inner corner of your lower eyelid. Otherwise, your eyes will look smaller (and we're going for big eyes with this look).

16. If multiple coats of mascara isn't enough, use false eyelashes, like I did. Try to make sure they don't look too false however. Because the ones I use have the peaks dispersed evenly and not all clumped together, they look a lot more natural.

17. That's it! Enjoy your beautiful look ^_^
